2023 iRacing Season 1 Patch 3 Brings NASCAR NEXT Gen. Template Changes

The 2023 Season 1 Patch 3 for iRacing was released on Thursday (26th January) with updates to several pieces of content.

Third correction to iRacingSeason 1 of 2023 brings more updates and fixes to the popular PC racing platform. It may also come as a sudden headache for those who paint cars for NASCAR fans in the service.

The update is small but powerful, bringing with it some necessary iRacing UI updates that will be crucial when it becomes the only way to race starting with Season 2 of 2023.

The new damage model got a much-needed update in the latest update, but it also made many of its cars nearly indestructible. This is revised in iRacing’s third patch of the season, specifically for GT4, 1987 NASCAR, TCs, ARCA, IR-18, Dirt Sprints, Radical SR10 and Skip Barber cars.

A LIVE MAGICAL NIGHT OF eNASCAR I hope iRacing is just the beginning

The biggest change will come with the 2023 updates that coincide with the start of the NASCAR season. All three NASCAR NEXT Gen noses have been reworked based on the 2023 spec. With that said, iRacing painters, I am sorry for all the requests you will likely receive before the Daytona 500 starts.

The paints are still working, and some might still be able to pass them off as acceptable, but I know I’m going to need to update all my Traxion.GG schematics for the next gen.

NASCAR trucks now also have Craftsman logos, the DW12 has had additional tire branding updates when looking at it in the UI, some tracks have been bumped up to 60 starters, and some other tracks have gotten some visual updates and fixes.

The rest of the updates are listed below, as they were posted to the iRacing forums earlier today (January 26). What makes you stand out in this patch? Let us know in the comments below!
