Andrew Tate: In 2023, let’s end the curse of the “anti-wake” fanatics | Suspension

Phil MacduffOn last year’s anti-wake wave: 2022 was the year of the “anti-awake.” This was the year that Elon Musk spent $44 billion on Twitter to defeat the “wake-mind virus,” the year of Florida’s “Stop Wake Up Act,” and in which the American right sided with Putin on Ukraine because of his “anti-wake up” credentials. (Read, overt homophobia.) WOK is in the daily lexicon of both MPs and the press.

Julia Hartley Brewer was simply going with the trend, and with her job description, when she joined the brief Twitter spat between climate activist Andrew Tate and climate activist Greta Thunberg. Of course, Hartley Brewer joined in alongside Tate. His more “controversial” views – such as married women being the property of their husbands – can be overlooked as simply taking things a bit too far, perhaps for timely criticism, but are necessarily overlooked while his opponents are the hated “wake”. leftists like Thunberg.

Unfortunately for Hartley Brewer, the day after she said, “I would choose the life of Andrew Tate *every time* over the life of a half-educated, autistic, eco-culturist,” Tate was arrested in Romania on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized criminal gang. Hartley-Brewer claimed she didn’t really know who Tate was, calling him “irrelevant” — for context, Tate has 3.5 million followers on Twitter and his TikTok videos have over 13 billion views — and that may be true, but reflexively Opposing Thunberg, she ends up associating herself with a dangerous, misogynistic, possibly criminal and certainly a very unpleasant man.
