Their nominations will set the tone for the Oscars race for production design, cinematography and partly for best soundtrack, now in its third year as a joint category for sound mixing and effects editing.
Expect plenty of references to “Everything Everywhere at Once” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” with potential surprises for “Elvis” and “All Quiet on the Western Front” gaining momentum.
The three unions will announce their nominees on Monday 9 January.
