Sustainability, satisfaction and community. These concepts should be seamlessly applied to the innovations that shape the future,” commented Dirk Pepper, chief executive officer of Asahi Kase Corporation.Since 1922, Asahi Kasei has been dedicated to developing innovations that change the way we live our lives in ways that contribute to sustainability – for both the environment and society. Over the past decade, Asahi Kasei has experienced significant growth in the materials, homes and healthcare sectors – particularly in the United States. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) are using the transition to electric vehicles as an opportunity to rethink the indoor mobility experience by offering seamless technology functionality and enhanced convenience and sustainability features designed to meet their unique brand identity. At CES 2023, we offer hands-on experiences with the technology that will transform society over the next decade. The future of autonomy for life

AKXY2

The AKXY2 concept vehicle demonstrates Asahi Kasei’s expertise across divisions throughout the entire value chain, from raw materials and production techniques to the use of recycled and recyclable materials, while addressing changing regulations and the evolving needs of vehicle users. Asahi Kasei has manufactured or developed nearly everything that can be seen, touched, or felt in a car. The vehicle features materials and solutions that affect the senses, improve safety and ensure maximum functionality while minimizing its impact on the environment. The concept car is based on the “3 S’s” theme: Sustainability, Satisfaction and Community.

Smart Cloak Gateway™

The concept of a secure gate for the entrance to a home is an extension of the Japanese concept of a “doma” (earthen floor), which is a two-door secured room in a home that can be used for secure delivery services within the home. Asahi Kasei Homes showcases the iDX-Platform™ and delivery system that protects access with a time-limited password. The gateway works together with AI bots to enable seamless in-home delivery with a higher level of security. With Asahi Kasei’s “Fresh Logi” charge insulation technology, products, including temperature-sensitive foods, can be received and stored safely within your home. Keep your deliveries and your home safe while you’re away.

The future of VR / AR technology for life

Asahi Kasei Microdevices (“AKM”) develops technology to improve user experience and simplify AR/VR interaction. This technology includes advanced optical image stabilization, a sensor to enable a loop interface for enhanced environment control, and a non-contact temperature sensor that allows for fast and accurate measurements. CES 2023 is a great opportunity to experience this next generation technology in person.

The future of sensors and life monitoring

On the road

Asahi Kasei and its subsidiary Senseair are developing a impaired driving detection sensor that can quickly detect and calculate a blood alcohol level from a driver’s breath. Senseair has also developed CO2 A sensor that monitors cabin air quality to recirculate air, improving EV efficiency and extending driving range. Moreover, AKM can provide millimeter wave radar to detect if children or animals are in the vehicle and active road noise cancellation to enhance cabin comfort. Asahi Kasei is also developing a seat-mounted sensor that can monitor your heart rate and breathing.

in our homes

Ultra-efficient CO2 from Senseair2 The sensor can monitor indoor air quality to improve air circulation for our health and detect flammable gases for safety. AKM has developed a health monitoring system that monitors the number of people and their breathing rates using millimeter wave radar and proprietary algorithms. Integrating these two technologies into your HVAC system allows for improved airflow for comfort and system efficiency for a healthier living space.
