College basketball odds, picks and predictions for Nevada vs Boise State

Nevada vs. Boise State odds

the Nevada Wolf Pack Team play started this season with a winning comeback Boise State home, and haven’t looked back since.

Nevada now sits alone atop Western Mountain, but to keep its spot, it will have to beat the Broncos again.

Boise State comes into this game having not lost since Nevada pulled off that win. Currently 4-1 in conference play, Boise beat top teams in the Mountain West like Utah State and UNLV. Not to mention, the Broncos beat their four opponents by an average of 15.3 points.

Can the Broncos get revenge at home? Or will Nevada assert its place as the winning team atop the Mountain West?

The Wolf Pack was the second most efficient team in the Mountain West on both offense and defense.

Unfortunately for them, Boise State had the better of both.

In their first meeting of the season, Nevada held Boise to just 31.2% from a 3-point range, which again can be a huge factor in this game.

No team in the Mountain West is better than Boise State from behind the arc in conference play. Over the first five games, the Broncos have averaged 41.9% from 3-point range.

The Wolf Pack has held teams to an average of 35.3% since the Broncos have played, and they’ll need to get them out of the perimeter if they want to keep this game close.

Boise State likely won’t be able to take advantage of one of Nevada’s biggest weaknesses: fouling. The Broncos average 14.8 errors per game and average just 13.4 free throw attempts per contest.

When it comes to scoring, the Wolf Pack should have no problem driving to the basket. Boise State has allowed opposing teams to hit 66.7% of shots on the rim and 43.8% of shots in the paint over the last five games.

However, Nevada may face some challenges when it comes to withdrawing.

The Wolf Pack takes as many shots of paint as it does of the midrange. But Boise State ranks 92 percent when it comes to reducing mid-range shooting, holding teams to just 27.6 percent.

For Boise State, the first move against Nevada would be to make 3-point attempts. The Broncos average 22.4 3-point attempts per game, and in their first meeting with Nevada, they had just 16.

It can’t happen if Boise State wants to split the season series.

The Broncos’ next step: Be aware of their mistakes and minimize them as much as possible. If a single Boise State player ever gets in trouble with a bug, this game is going to be a whole different game.

The Boise State bench has averaged an impressively poor 10 points per game over the last five years. The Broncos weren’t much better overall throughout the year, averaging just 13.7 per contest.

The Boise State defense won the majority of its games; This is why the Broncos are 14-4 on the season and second in the conference. If they are going to beat Nevada, they will need their defense to come up again.

The Coyotes have struggled rebounding, on the other hand, Boise ranks 97 percent in defensive rebounds per game (28.6).

In their first meeting, the Broncos pulled off the Wolf Pack by 10. They’ll need to do it – or better – again this week while avoiding a late collapse again.

Nevada vs Boise State bet pick

Nevada came home late at the first meeting, but I don’t see them doing it again in Boise.

I think this Broncos is good enough to win this conference, and they’ll prove it on Tuesday night.

I know it looks like a high spread, especially with how well both teams do both upright and against the spread. But I think this is a revenge spot for the Boise State team that has taken it to another level in conference play since losing its opening game against Nevada.

The Broncos run back as a six-point favorite.
