Hannah Barry has lifted the lid on toxic tactics used by fitness influencers and admits she used to give fans misinformation too
A fitness influencer has revealed the most toxic secrets in her field and claimed that everything from targeted fat loss to abs workouts are “bulls**t.”
Hannah Barry, who admits to using tactics to deceive her followers for years, is now exposing them in an effort to clean up the industry.
The health coach, who works out of the UK, has targeted everything from clean eating to nutritional supplements and one-on-one coaching for her epic TikTok game.
“I used to be a really bad fitness influencer,” she admitted.
“Now I am not very toxic but I wanted to tell you about some of the bullseye that is going on within the industry.”
The personal training you’re paying for online will likely be done by the “shadows” of your favorite trainers that you’ve revealed.
“You’re not really being coached by the people you’re coaching,” she said.

“You can’t select to reduce fat,” she said.
This includes stomach fat or arm fat.
The only way to reduce these areas, she says, is to stay in a calorie deficit until you lose weight in the desired places.

She said that exercises that target belly fat are useless because you cannot burn fat from certain areas
She says these posts are made “for sharing only” and admits she didn’t do any of the ones she promoted online.
“They exceeded millions of views,” she admitted.
“Ab exercises don’t build abs at all.”
Instead, she tells her followers to do heavy squats and lift deadlifts and heavy vehicles instead.
Your body fat percentage will determine how visible your abs will be, and it comes down to what you eat.

The next viral workout she’s back in is working out on a treadmill, which recommends a specific incline and speed to reach your weight and physique goals.

She said, “You have a liver because your liver detoxifies your body for you.”
While she thinks protein supplements are good, she cautions that they are not magic.
Her series of videos target most of the principles of popular online fitness influencers
“If you start taking protein supplements but generally don’t eat enough, you won’t get the results you want,” she said.
Clean eating is a myth and sugar doesn’t make you fat, according to the young woman.
“The only people who don’t need to eat gluten are people who are intolerant,” she said.
She also warned that there are a lot of people with eating disorders in the fitness influencer community.
She said clean eating tricks your brain into thinking that junk food is “bad.” She says it’s important not to categorize foods into good and bad.
