Indulge yourself in a game of golf for the week

David Cannon, Erica Denhoff, and Jason Kennedy

Hello from snowy Boston, my friends, and welcome to another edition of the Rogers Report.

It’s been quite a while since I last wrote, so I’ve compiled some golf housekeeping notes before diving into this past week’s golf game. Here’s what you need (or I think you need) to know: Matthew Wolfe got engaged, and the Gretzky-Johnson clan joined a softball league (imagine you’re in for a casual game after work, only to realize you’re up against… Wayne Gretzky and Dustin Johnson?) , we’ve got Max Homa’s cover story has been dropped and John Ram Unstoppable.

We start with Wolfe’s fiancee, Kim Lloyd. She has a BA in Economics from Oklahoma State, was the Vice President of Membership for Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity and is famous on TikTok for her skincare and makeup videos.

We move on to the Gretzky-Johnson softball team. It sounds like a lot of fun, but according to the comments section, things weren’t going very well for Wayne.

We hope things get better for them. And watch this video of John Rahm’s kids taking a peek at the American Express Cup.

lovable.

Crossover NFL and golf

The Kyle Jusk Swing

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m not a soccer girl. But any Golf content featuring soccer players It always piques my interest. Around this time last year, I made it my life’s mission to dedicate 0.002% of my time trying to find a video of a Joe Borough swing. Unfortunately for me, that thing didn’t exist.

We got a little closer to some of Burrow’s golf content last year when he played with teammate Sam Hubbard, 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa and Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns. But all we got is this one picture.

Fast forward to this past April, when Borough was spotted putting on the green behind a wedding ceremony. So we got close to seeing him play actual golf, but we didn’t get to get the real thing. Guys, this kept me up at night. Played by Tom Brady. Played by Josh Allen. Played by Patrick Mahomes. He plays Aaron Rodgers. What about Boro?

I had mixed feelings when I found my answer on Sunday night.

As a fellow elite athlete, I respect Burrow’s point of view. He doesn’t play golf because he would become obsessed with it. It’s the same reason I don’t keep chocolate chip cookies in my apartment. I selfishly wish he’d give it a shot in the offseason, but I’m willing to wait for Boro to retire until he finds out how great our favorite sport really is.

And while we’re on the topic of NFL players, San Francisco 49ers’ linebacker Kyle Gocek was spotted working on his swing while teammate Christian McCaffrey caught some rays last week. Sometimes pro golfers are just like us (read: they’ll get some swings anywhere they can).

This concludes my knowledge (and interest) in all things football this week.

Crazy LPGA travel schedule

Last week, I put together a video showing the PGA Tour travel schedule.

I know the pros don’t play for every single event, but between that general travel schedule and the players going home, I couldn’t get past the amount of travel the pros do week in and week out. That was, until someone suggested I make an LPGA version.

God. The LPGA has 33 events in 12 countries and regions. What I thought was a light-hearted video turned out to be a file Many A bigger conversation about how much travel female professionals can expect from coast to coast and country to country.

Honesty hour: It takes me days to recover from a business trip. We work long hours, often on off-course times, and I absolutely love that. But that doesn’t mean I don’t need 48 hours to catch up again once I get home. I can’t imagine doing this much traveling as a pro and expecting to fully recover and perform my best week in every week.

Tyrell’s mood

DP World Tour has done it again. And by “it,” I mean creating an Oscar-worthy short video. The tour (and Terrell Hatton’s) totally catered to Hatton’s mood a bit, which makes for a very good video.

Imagine if we could get PGA Tour players to do that? Video clips featuring Spith as the Golden Child, and Zlatoris as a can of Happy Gilmore And JT Poston as “the other JT” would be funny to watch. Side note: If you’re a PGA Tour employee reading this column, please run these thoughts. Free shipping.

Justin Thomas wedding photos

Justin Thomas married Jillian Wisniewski in November, but we weren’t honored with any photos from the day until JT’s friend and wedding officiant, Jason KennedyWe shared some pictures over the weekend.

Jason, thank you very much for these. I won’t be able to refund you. What a beautiful sight! And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Jordan Spieth was GT’s best man. Bud Cooley was also in line for the groomsmen. I can not say that I recognize others.

Newborn PGA Tour

It was a big week for the future of the game. First, Francie and Smiley Kaufman welcomed their daughter, Anna Carter.

And just three days later, Luna and Joel Damen Riggs and William Damen had a baby.

Don’t worry Cam Homa, we haven’t forgotten you. There is a serious baby boom happening in golf right now. This PGA Tour daycare center will be busy for years to come.

Very cool video I saw this week

As a parting thought, I’m going to share my favorite thing I saw this week. Emily Casey is the assistant superintendent at Seven Canyons Golf Club in Sedona, Arizona, and has a unique commute to work each morning.

We talk soon to everyone.
