Lusk Herald | Fiber optic internet is available here

lusk Stacy McDonald, Vice President of Public Relations at Visionary Broadband, states, “The town of Lusk has been planning and waiting for fiber internet service for many years, and it’s finally becoming a reality.” “It’s exciting to think about how residents can benefit from this quick option.”

Visionary Broadband with standard internet speeds and connectivity has been available to Lusk residents for years. Known as VCN, they have a small but loyal customer base that is already established.

Visionary has received funding to expand its coverage of Niobrara County through the Rural Development Opportunity Fund. Although they secured funding in December of 2020, it took nearly a year to complete the final approval process with that happening in December of 2021. The RDOF awards give the provider ten years to complete the proposed construction.

Visionary started expanding into the region as soon as they got approval. Building mostly from the air is faster to spread and much less disturbing than underground.

Residents of Niobrara County have seen installation crews around Lusk County and Township for weeks. The canal has been operated using special machines. This canal runs on the west side of Interstate 85 north of the city and on the east side of Interstate 85 south of the city. It also runs along the streets and alleys of Lusk.

Insightful viber will be the fastest internet available in the region by a large margin, inCrimp local speed options from 5From 0 to 200 Mbps to 1000 Mbps, also called “party”. A faster Internet provides faster transitions to websites, as well as better video chatting, gaming, streaming, downloading, and uploading of TV and movies. For businesses, it can help with point-of-sale (POS) systems, cloud file storage, photo uploading, and software communications.

Lusk residents can take advantage of Visionary’s promotional pricing through March, which offers a price of $64.95 per month with additional options available. Once the promotion ends, customers will be looking forward to $79.95 per month, with additional options. Those who qualify can take advantage of the FCC’s Affordable Connection Program (ACP) and Lifeline programs through www.fcc.gov/acp, which can reduce your monthly Internet cost.

Visionary will continue to serve wireless customers outside of the construction area and encourage any existing customers to call about moving to fiber.

Zone 1 fibers from Visionary Broadband are available for pre-order at Lusk. District 1 includes homes and businesses on Main Street, west of Main Street, and south of the railroad tracks. Fiber Optic provides customers with fiber optic (gig/gig) Internet service without housing contracts or data caps, as well as telephone service through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Visionary’s three additional fiber regions are not far behind with an estimated completion schedule of February and March.

“I’m pleased with the progress so far and look forward to the progress that will be made for the rest of the month,” Lusk Mayor Doug Lytle stated.

You’ll see Visionary vehicles going on in the area, and likely meet with some of the team as they travel door-to-door to share fiber availability, or at one of the coffee or pizza events they’re planning this month. The Visionary will be buying coffee at Rough’n’Refined from 8-12 on January 17, and pizza at The Pizza Place on January 24. Details will be shared through Chamber’s Facebook page and at The Pizza Place and Rough’n’Refined.
