In one part of the book, obtained by Page Six, Harry writes about the choice of costume, explaining that it was a confusion between two uniforms: a pilot’s uniform or a Nazi’s uniform.
“I called Billy and Kate and asked what they thought. They said it was a Nazi outfit,” Harry wrote, adding that when he came home and tried it on for them. “They both howled. Worse than Willy’s costume! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the goal.”
Harry, 38, is expected to go into detail for the first time about his fallout with his older brother in the ensuing stormy aftermath. Other book sources assert that there is also “a great deal of information” about both Kate and his stepmother, Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles.
Although the Duke of Sussex called the Nazi incident “one of the biggest mistakes of my life,” a senior publishing source who has read Harry’s book Spear told us, “It’s weird because you think Harry’s going to take ownership of this and just going forward and not dragging his brother into it, but making it clear that he feels strongly about William’s part in the scandal.”

“He made Harry feel resentful and even alienated,” Lacey wrote, claiming that William was the one to “convince” Harry of his “wayward and self-destructive ways”.
“For the first time, their relationship really suffered and they barely spoke,” a former aide told Lacey. “Harry resented the fact that William got away with it so lightly.”
The fallout sparked “no talking” between the pair in the years that followed, with Harry repeatedly resenting his portrayal of a “comic fall guy” to his brother’s “brilliant hero”, the writers claim.
So Harry’s wife wasn’t the trigger for the issues with Harry and his family, Lacey writes.
“He really had very strong reasons for firing him [get rid] of the rest of us and our smirking assumptions of the inferior—even somewhat humiliating—role he should be grateful to have played. Truly a ‘reserve’ in more than one sense.”

The Guardian published an excerpt on Wednesday in which Harry claims the new Prince of Wales grabbed him by the collar and threw him to the ground during a fight, leaving him with visible injuries.
The fight allegedly broke out at his London home in 2019, after William called Markle “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.
