Rutgers in Temple Picks and Predictions

Rutgers 31, Temple 7

money line

No thanks -1400 for the favorites on the road. The price is right for the books, but I’ll pass on betting it.

anti spread

Rutgers House -18.5 (-112).

The Scarlet Knights played a tough game and find out how to beat Boston College, but this game should focus more on the inability of the Owls.

They have a junior quarterback under position who only took on a team that was supposed to destroy Temple. The transition from Lafayette to Power-5 is not going to be a smooth process.

I lost 30-0 to Duke, and it was a quick defeat as the Blue Devils advanced well and never looked back. Duke was leading 24-0 in the first half. The owls didn’t stand a chance and only had 66 yards off the ground.

Rutgers should have a better defensive front and more explosive attack than the Blue Devils who just took Northwestern this past weekend. Experts predicted the Northwest would be the worst in the West unanimously with some placing Rutgers over Indiana in a more competitive east.

Rutgers should be able to put this away early on. Also, a side note: The home field advantage with how close Rutgers is to Philadelphia should help take out a Temple.

Above under

Less than 42.5 (-103).

Temple did not score against Duke, and I imagine Warner is having a hard time moving on Rutgers. Warner is also not a dynamic threat, so it will be interesting to see how he jibs his pocket against a more aggressive front.

Given that they didn’t score at Duke and scored just 9 in the second half against Lafayette, a game they won by just 16, Temple should have found it difficult to score.

Similarly, Rutgers only scored 22 points at Boston College, and he probably doesn’t have the most dynamic attack either.

Given that, I will rely on under 42.5 (-103).
