with the NCAA Transfer Portal It’s getting full of players making moves at the moment, the Frogs jumped into it early and got some quality, talented players to move into. TCU. Frogs succeed under the leadership of the coach Sonny Dex This season has helped them get huge recruits and transfers. I anticipate more going in and out, especially with the news that TCU’s Offensive Coordinator Garrett Riley He leaves TCU for Clemson. However, here is a list of players that TCU has gained and a list of players that TCU has lost.
Transfer players
Let’s start by discussing the players who will be moving out – first, the quarterback Sam Jackson who will move to University of California. This is an expected but unfortunate loss for TCU. Jackson is an amazing young quarterback with unlimited potential. Unfortunately, he just fell into a crowded quarterback room. The Horned Frogs will be looking hard to find a quarterback to fill a shoe Max Duganbe it Chandler Morris or anyone else.
Next on my list is the corner back Marvin Covington. He hasn’t found a new home yet but has entered the gate. This also isn’t a huge surprise since he hasn’t been receiving a lot of playing time, and TCU is getting a few in-the-gate staples and new recruits. This makes the back corner room even more crowded. TCU will be looking to bolster its defense this off-season.
The last player to enter the transfer gate from TCU is a wide receiver, Caleb Medford. He also hasn’t found a new home yet. However, I don’t see him leaving surprisingly either, since TCU already has several great receivers on the roster and has a few more coming out of the gate or new recruits.
As the Horned Frog family, we are sad to see you leave, but we wish you the best on your next home.
Players who move in
The Frogs had a lot of players willing to transfer after a great season. The first three players we will discuss will all move from them University of Alabama. The first player we’ll talk about is the big offensive tackle Tommy Brookermayer who just finished his freshman season. He’s a massive addition to the Horned Frogs considering most of TCU’s offensive line were seniors this past season. Brockermeyer is a former five-star class of 2021 from Fort Worth, where he attended All Saints Episcopal School. Although he didn’t receive much playing time at Alabama, he was a monster in high school. If TCU can keep him healthy, he’ll be an important part of this team.
The next player we’ll discuss is the five-star running back Tre Sanders. Sanders just finished his redshirt sophomore season at Alabama. During his time, he set up just over 500 yards. This is impressive given the fact that he has dealt with many injuries, including some that were off the field. TCU’s already serious offense just got even scarier with Sanders. The Horned Frogs had a fast dynamic attack Kinder MillerAnd Emary DemercadoAnd Imani Bailey this chapter. This was Demercado’s last season in TCU, and it might have been Miller if he left for the draft. The Frogs also have a talented incoming student Cameron Cook. Frog lovers would love for Miller to stay put; However, they should be in great hands either way with their stacked depth chart.

The next player decides to go home. wide future Joe Joe Earl He decided to go home after only two seasons at Alabama, where he got decent playing time but not much. It’s a former four-star product from Aledo, Texas. He is an extremely fast and talented wide receiver. It is a reception style similar to Dereus Davis, which just finished its first season. This transfer is huge for TCU because they are likely to lose quite a few receivers. If TCU uses him right, he could be one of the best receivers in the Big 12.
Alabama isn’t the only SEC school TCU has received transfers from; They also acquired a former four-star tight end Jack Bish from LSU. Beach He finished his sophomore season at LSU And put up some solid numbers. It will be interesting to see how TCU will use him since he is also a former wide receiver. Also, it will depend if Jared Wiley And Gorgeous Spivey remaining in TCU for another season. No matter how they use him, he is an important pickup for the Frogs due to his size and athletic ability.
The last transfer we’ll cover is the only defensive transfer so far. Former four-star freshman Avery Helm also decided to leave the SEC for TCU. Helm comes from the University of Florida, where he had a decent career. He would be a great addition to TCU’s defense, especially with Trevius Hodges Tomlinson Graduation. Helm hasn’t received enough playing time to reach his full potential, so I look forward to watching him develop in the TCU.
Each of these players are great additions to this team in their own way, and Horned Frogs fans can’t wait to watch them reach their fullest potential in the TCU. Welcome to the horned frog family move!
KillerFrogs will continue to monitor the portal closely to see if there are more players who decide to move in or out. Stay posted as the 2023-2024 season looks really exciting!
